When personal trainers Kirk and Julie Leavell founded Wild Basin Fitness over 10 years ago, they set-out to redefine the fitness club experience. Tired of working for large, corporate fitness giants that offered vast facilities but little personal service, theystarted with a handful of clients and grew their business to one of Austin’s most respective clubs. Integrating personalized service with the beauty of Ausitn results in a rare combination you can find nowhere else.
“At Wild Basin, we strive to provide every client with a level of service you can’t find in most clubs,” explains Kirk. “Whether you come for a class once a week or you train with me everyday, I want you to feel like you belong here.” Indeed, clients often influence everything at Wild Basin from operating hours to class schedules. Combining formal education (from Blinn Jr. College and Sam Houston State University) with years of training experience, Kirk is able to provide expert training and guidance to everyone from first-time members to a slew of professional athletes.
Cultivating a culture of openess and a comfortable environment are key to Julie. “I love working at Wild Basin. I love the fact that I not only see fresh faces everyday, but I also have clients that I’ve trained for years,” says Julie. “I’m proud of the culture we have here. People know you here. They care about you and they’re happy to see you.” With a BS in Kinesiology from SHSH, Julie focuses not only on personal training, but also teaches classes and an occasional boot camp.
